At the time of this writing NFT Gater accounts are free, you can register with a Nami or Eternl wallet on desktop/laptop.
Free accounts come with:

The free tier can easily be used to facilitate fun and profitable token-gating projects on your website, but is limited in ability and queries.
Legendary Accounts
The Legendary Lobster NFT provides users with an upgraded tier of service, Legendary.

If you plan to be a power user or you have a large audience, get access to the full suite of features like the Events Manager, way to design and manage in-person events. There are exactly 1,000 of these tokens available in order to keep the initial user pool low. In addition to full access, Legendary holders get early and exclusive access to every new feature.

Subscriptions
In the future, gate queries will be regulated by subscription tiers designed to match a variety of business sizes. If a user selects a paid tier, their internal account will be charged in ADA monthly to refill your gate queries. Legendary accounts are immune from subscription charges, making the Legendary NFT extremely valuable to those who plan to be power users.
