We wanted to let you all know that we are working on a Soundcloud integration for NFT Gater that would allow users to token-gate their Private tracks, using the GATR app as a payment gateway or proof of purchase.
Monetizing Private Tracks
When making a token gate for a private SoundCloud track, you will want to consider how the basic gate options affect your tokenomics:
- Expiry Date: Date when the gate will stop functioning entirely.
- Use Cap: Optional, a hard cap on the number of times the gate can unlock.
- Asset Cap: Optional, each individual NFT in your collection can be used on this gate X number of times.
- Stake Pool: If you are a Cardano stake pool operator (SPO) you can provide exclusive content to delegators.
- Pay-to-Play: The NMKR NFT minting integration with NFT Gater means that you can charge users in $ADA, $SOL or Cardano fungible tokens (memecoins) in order to access private songs.
The GATR gate system has a variety of trigger options that a musician can use to monetize their private tracks. At the time of this writing we are on the Cardano blockchain and can provide private tracks exclusively to any combination of these types of audiences:
- Wallet size
- Verify NFT Collection ownership
- Minimum Quantity (optional)
- Multiple policies per gate (optional)
- Rarity traits (optional)
- Specific wallet address
- Specific NFT asset
- Stake Pool delegators
- Minimum Stake (optional)
- Minimum Age (optional)
- DRep delegators
Music Distribution & Time-To-Live
Time-to-Live options are separate from the basic gate conditions. Time-to-Live refers to the options you have for providing a user access to a track multiple times, while only needing to pass through a gate portal once. When making your gate in NFT Gater (app.nftgater.com) you can set an optional TTL expiry in terms of number of days and/or number of fetches. Setting a moderate time-to-live for gate access allows your consumers to replay your music at minimal inconvenience while imposing that they revisit your portal page once in awhile.
NFT Gater was meant to provide web3 gating functionality on any website. You can configure a token gate for a website distribution whitelist, essentially dictating where on the web users are allowed to see your content in addition to whom is allowed. Participating websites would need to integrate the GATR On-Page-Script, which may require customizations depending on the platform your website is on. For ultimate convenience we have created Gater Spaces, custom pages that you can design within your Gater account to match your branding, which come ready with a web3 portal you can send your consumers to for wallet validation.
