In mid-August we added an affiliate tracking mechanism to NFT Gater accounts, giving all users the ability to revenue-share in our app using your custom referral link. New user registrations stemming from your referral link are tracked back to your NFT Gater account that awards you points. Furthermore, if that new user buys a login NFT (the “Legendary” token) to upgrade their account, you will receive $ADA in your wallet equal to the dollar amount of their NFT price (which is pegged to $20 USD).
Points System #
The points system is a way to analyze an affiliate performance across any given desired outcome; in the case of the NFT Gater affiliate program it is account registrations (Sign-Ups) and NFT sales (Account Upgrades).
Sign-Ups: 1 Point
Account Upgrades: 10 points
Essentially, the commission on NFT sales is 50%, not bad! It is important to note that the points system is not synonymous with payouts; affiliate payments are calculated purely on account upgrades and not sign-ups. All referral activity is tracked in a log and your points score will be extrapolated each epoch (five days). We will use the wallet address associated with your most recent sign-in on the app. Please be mindful of that! If you sell your Login NFT, you are also inherently selling the affiliate link connected to your account ID and the subsequent payouts. Which of course, can make one person’s Gater NFT more valuable than another’s.
The Leaderboard #

Instead of building a private dashboard to manage our payouts, we made the Affiliate Leaderboard (help us find a better name!). The Affiliate Leaderboard is a public page that honors top-moving affiliates and creates a friendly competition. Each epoch that affiliate payments go out, the top performing affiliate will get a bonus.
