Notes
NFT GATR Version 3 took the app through a few major structural changes to bring forth several never-before-seen features in the realm of token-gating as a service. This post will briefly explain what to expect in version 3 of this Web3 tool built on Cardano.
Data Loss
Accounts and other database objects were deleted – thankfully this is of no consequence to the small pool of users that exists. It is important to mention to holders of the Legendary token, it is impossible to lose your special service tier status as long as you have your NFT. However, once V3 goes live you will need to re-register.
Debugging
There will be a period of a week or more of live debugging as the V3 updates are being pushed to the app. So please expect intermittent issues and please join our Discord server to report any bugs you may find. November 1st is the target for V3 to officially launch.
Website Code Released
Certain turnkey website makers like Wix and Magento have security precautions that actively block the GATR universal script from doing its job, namely to redirect users and to read the current URL. There is a version of the script that gets around these issues by requiring the user to perform extra manual work, which is not ideal. Recently we published the code for Nessie Club, which serves as a live example of how to properly integrate the GATR script into your website. This means that you can clone the repository to make your own website that is already set up properly to communicate with the GATR system.
New Features
The GATR app is introducing non-NFT related triggers for token gate creation, namely stake pools and dReps.
Pool and Drep Triggers
You will find that the Create Gate interface has new options in the Triggers section. You will be able to dictate gating terms from a combination of individual assets, NFT collections, or delegation to one of several stake pools and dReps.
There are multiple new “trigger logic” options that allow you to decide whether all trigger conditions need to be met or just one. Asset and policy triggers get their own trigger logic options as well.
In-Depth Policy Options
In version 2 of NFT Gater there was a space to enter a target policy for a gate. Now, you can enter a list of policy IDs and dictate whether one or all must be met. For each policy individually, you can decide optional minimum quantities and metadata, allowing you to require ownership of an NFT from a policy that also matches certain rarity traits.
Coupon Management
V3 introduces a new object type, Coupons. New menu interfaces allow you to set up “Coupon Packs” as lists of coupon codes from your web store. Coupon Packs can be used as a special gate payload type when you design your token gate. This means that you only need to design a single token gate to facilitate the distribution of a specific crop of coupon codes.
Basic coupon analytics and data export options will allow merchants to link up wallet and NFT data with their web store order data in Excel, which means that store owners will be able to import this into their web store to enrich order data with the wallet and triggers that caused the order.
Analytics Experience
Analytics and stats widgets for the most part have been migrated to a separate area of interfaces and a sidebar that is only for analytics. Much more analytics are planned in the near-term, but this is a way to make the general use of the app faster while providing a way for entrepreneurs to get more in-depth with your understanding of how your NFT holder audience is interacting with your content.
GATR Spaces
Legendary status users (NFT holders) can access the new GATR Spaces feature, which lets you create multiple custom branded pages that live on the GATR app and can facilitate the token gates you design. In the Create Gate interface, you can select from the Spaces you have created along with the usual domain distribution whitelist option. You will be able to create a different Space page for each of your NFT projects, while analyzing audience interaction so you can better gamify and incentivize your holders.
Marketplaces (Public Search)
The ability for the public to find and learn details about token gates has been out for awhile, but we are beefing up the experience to find token gates, creators and assets that have utility found in the GATR system. We also added the Event Marketplace, a grid of upcoming events with search filters that include miles near you. Event creators can mark their events as private to opt out of this public search. No purchases of tickets or NFTs are facilitated on these pages, but GATR creators have the opportunity to provide links to where consumers can purchase the tokens necessary to access the gates in question.
